HARMONICA IN A DAY WORKSHOP
If you live in the Vancouver area and can get 8 or more friends together, I can come and give your group a "Harmonica In A Day" Introductory Workshop to teach you the basics of blues harmonica in order to help you get started. If you don't live in the Vancouver area, you may wish to consider taking private harmonica lessons on Skype. Please contact me for more details.
Harmonica In A Day Workshop will cover the following:
- How notes are set up on a harmonica
- Folk Style vs. Blues (position playing)
- 12-bar blues — what it is and how to play along
- The blues scale and how to find it on the harp
- Bending the notes for a "bluesy" sound
- Vibrato techniques
- Bag o' tricks
- Harmonica care and repair
- The etiquette — jamming with others
- Microphones and amps — lets get loud!
There will be exercises handed out so that you leave with lots of work to study. You will also take home a jam tracks CD to practice with.
